Program and operate the WUDS fund in the FAB using their ION. This is a great chance to get some experience with the ION - the main desk used within the Warwick Arts Centre, and use the FAB's fixed lighting rig.

Please note: in order to use the ION to program you must have had training/been approved by the head technician. Exec and the producers will facilitate this during week 8 so you are able to work on the show week 9

From the Producers: "The lighting for the play will be white and austere for scenes involving Pentheus while contrastingly colourful, almost static dancefloor lighting for Dionysos. There will be a significant lighting change when Dionysos and Pentheus move up to the mountains as represented by a faded green to distinguish it from the city, and provide a slightly creepy, ominous air to this section of the play.
If the disco ball that resides in FAB 0.20 is also available for use, we’d love to utilise it in scenes with Dionysos alongside moving lights (in different colours) to enhance the colourful, chaotic atmosphere intended for those scenes, creating a greater contrast between those scenes and the more stoic scenes with Pentheus. "

From the Producers: "The music we’d like to employ would fit the 70s period and environment of our setting. Whilst our production is not directly set in New York, it takes a great deal of influence from what was happening in queer scenes and general society there in the 1970s. Therefore, the soundtrack for the show would match this accordingly, with music (mainly pre-show when the audience enters and during bows) from the likes of Lou Reed, David Bowie and Blondie. Additionally, throughout the play we would also have the occasional sound effects, such as a telephone ringing or knocking on a door. One significant moment during the play where music is particularly utilised is during Pentheus’s death, where royalty-free classical music is played to heighten the intense action in the scene. "
